Today I ran for the first time for a fortnight, and blogged about it for the first time for a month. Readers may dwell on how disgraceful this is in the comments, if you wish; I shan’t argue.

Nevertheless, today’s three miles were a small, but important step towards marathon training, which starts on Boxing Day. I felt odd, and not very strong. There are several possible explanations for this:

  • I may have been tired from yesterday’s swimming training, when I exhausted myself doing butterfly
  • I may have been suffering from the after-effects of a cold
  • this morning I changed my hypertension medication from telmisartan to amlodipine, and feeling weak and dizzy seems consistent with the reported side-effects

Nevertheless, it is a step forward. I have also been unwise enough to sign up to Janathon
